Train & Bus – The showroom is a short walk from Farringdon train station, and not too far from Barbican, Old Street and Chancery Lane Underground stations. There are also stops on Clerkenwell Road and St John Street for the 55, N55, 153, 243 bus routes

Car - As the event is in central London, car parking is limited. We advise, whenever possible either car sharing or travelling to the event via public transport. There is an NCP car park close by and JustPark parking spaces that can be booked online.

ACPOHE Study Day 2024
After the tremendous success of the 2024 event, the ACPOHE Study Day is back, bigger and better than ever!
The theme of our day is “Thriving in the workplace”, to explore some lesser talked about conditions that can influence work and health and discover strategies to empower individuals to thrive in their professional environments.
Speakers: Schedule highlights include key speakers on cancer rehabilitation, pelvic health and rheumatoid arthritis.
Workshops: Engage in fun, interactive afternoon workshops and choose from:
- Access to Work and Cancer/terminal illness
- Practical ergonomics linking to pelvic pain
- Health psychology and confidence building in the workplace
Academic Posters: We invite participants to showcase their research, projects, or case studies through academic posters. If you would like to display your poster, contact us on admin@acpohe.org.uk to arrange a space no later than Monday 11th November. It is recommended that your poster is A0 or A1 size. You will be able to speak to attendees and answer questions during the breaks throughout the day. View our guidance for tips on creating impactful posters.

9.30 Our First Speaker – Karen Robb on Cancer Rehabilitation
Karen Robb: Dr Karen Robb is a Chartered Physiotherapist and the Director of Programme Implementation in Cancer (UK and Ireland) for Movember. Karen recently served on CSP council.
Karen is a specialist in cancer rehabilitation and her career has spanned clinical practice, academia and strategic roles. She has worked in several high-profile organisations including Barts Hospital, NHS England and North East London Cancer Alliance.
Karen is passionate about ensuring high quality evidence-based rehabilitation is accessible for all people living with and beyond cancer. After working for many years as a specialist in breast cancer, her recent move into men’s health has opened her eyes to the complex challenges in delivering personalised care in prostate cancer. She has a growing interest in sexual dysfunction and is currently working with her colleagues at Movember to implement new evidence-based clinical guidelines. In her spare time Karen enjoys keeping fit, walking her dog Maisie and hanging out with friends and family..

10:45 Christien Bird / Gerard Green on pelvic health
Christien Bird: After training in the Netherlands, Christien worked with musculoskeletal and women’s health outpatients at Central Middlesex Hospital, London. She also worked with the clinical research team at Brunel University London after gaining her Master’s degree in research methods at King’s College London. Christien founded the White Hart Clinic in Barnes in 1995, a busy multidisciplinary practice that offers musculoskeletal, pelvic health, psychological and medical services whitehartclinic.co.uk.
Christien is the co-founder of the Menopause Movement online certified training and community platform for health and fitness professionals menopausemovement.co. The movement has created a community and training platform for the fitness and health world to confidently treat & train women into the menopause.
She joined the educational subcommittee of the pelvic health professional body, thepogp.co.uk in 2020, enjoying working alongside some very impressive physio peers to support training and awareness of pelvic health. One of her roles is representing the POGP for NICE (National Institute for health and Care Excellence) guideline development.
Before starting up the clinic, she worked as superintendent physiotherapist at the out-patients department at the Central Middlesex Hospital and as a research coordinator. Christien completed a master’s degree in clinical research methodology from King’s College and has coordinated a large clinical trial looking at the effects of physiotherapy for acute low back pain. Her work has been published in medical peer review journals worldwide. At the start of her physio career, she trained in the Netherlands and worked in hospital as well as private practice settings treating sports & MSK injuries in Germany and the Netherlands.
She loves everything about movement and continues to compete as an age-group athlete for British triathlon representing Britain. Much of her drive is supporting women in enjoying movement and staying strong.
Gerard Green: Gerard is an experienced men’s health physiotherapist and has two specialist pelvic health clinics in Birmingham and London. He works clinically in male pelvic pain, pudendal neuralgia, pelvic floor rehab post prostate surgery, hard flaccid syndrome, younger erectile dysfunction, pelvic floor dysfunction in sport and focused shockwave in pelvic health. He set up the London Men’s Health Physio Clinic in 2022 which is one of the few UK clinics to solely focus on male pelvic health conditions.
He has delivered male pelvic health education and training for many international organisations including APTA Pelvic Health Academy (USA), IFOMPT Asia, Japanese Physiotherapy Association, South African Physiotherapy Society and WCPT. He has taught widely on male pelvic health in UK, Ireland and abroad and is a strong advocate to get more physiotherapists involved in this specialist area of practice.
He is also an Assistant Professor of Physiotherapy in Coventry University, UK. Outside of work he is dad to 4 teenage kids, is a keen but inconsistent golfer and enjoys the gym/pool. He can be found on Instagram @harbornephysio and online at the links below.

11:30 Mr Will Gregory on Rheumatoid Arthritis
Will Gregory: Will is a Consultant Physiotherapist employed by the Rheumatology team at Salford Royal Hospital. He is Vice President (for HCPs) at the British Society for Rheumatology and co-chair of the recently formed RheumPhysioUK CSP professional network.
He is a visiting lecturer in advanced practice and in rheumatology at Manchester Metropolitan University and also teaches on the Keele University Rheumatology MSc and on Exercise Physiology at The University of Salford.
Research interests include the early identification and the rehabilitation of Axial Spondyloarthritis, as well as physiotherapy for rarer connective tissue disorders.

Guy Osmond has operated in the workplace sector for over 30 years. Throughout that time, he has actively promoted ergonomics, wellbeing and good practice through workshops, talks, exhibitions, conferences, magazine articles, blogs, social media and, most recently, a monthly podcast.
Stuart
Stuart Entwistle is Training Manager at Osmond Ergonomics. He has been at the company for over 24 years and in this role since 2013, delivering both internal and external training (face-to-face and virtually). Before that he worked in almost every department of the company and has completed thousands of DSE assessments.
Osmond Ergonomics will be raising awareness about their new Inclusive Wellbeing Services (launching in July).
